Who is LTS LeaderBoard?

LTS LeaderBoard is a service company, a franchise company, an entertainment company, a technology company and a marketing company. It was founded in 1989 to revolutionize the way charity and corporate golf tournaments were scored. LTS LeaderBoard has created a scannable scorecard and accompanying proprietary software that solves all the scoring problems inherent with calculating tournament results and their often-complicated play formats. It is a system that does so quickly and with 100% accuracy.

Based in Canada, LTS LeaderBoard is an amazing international network of franchisees who deliver that service, not just to golf tournaments but to any event that can be enhanced by its multimedia software. Headed by company President Gerry Lev, the corporate office is a dynamic team of professionals with a combined 150 years’ experience in sales, marketing and franchising. It was Gerry’s foresight that led to sharing this unique business opportunity with others. He     decided the company should begin to sell franchises, and to expand into events unrelated to golf.

His creation is a company that today services event organizers of all kinds, sells franchises to qualifying partners, entertains anyone attending these events with big-screen presentations designed to command everybody’s attention, writes its own software programs to drive the     multimedia presentations and helps to market the products of sponsors whose contributions assist in raising money for charities.

LTS LeaderBoard is a company with a mission dedicated to maintaining its position with ongoing research, development and application of new technology. It is a company dedicated to  becoming the standard against which others are measured by participants at all such events.

What is a LTS LeaderBoard Franchise?

A franchise is access to a system. LTS LeaderBoard is a system that enables franchise partners to help charitable event organizers maximize fundraising by giving sponsors more bang for their buck with enhanced, professional and multimedia exposure throughout the entire event process.

It is a system that takes the administration and presentation of events to a new level, enhancing the experience for the tournament golfer, increasing the value of exposure for sponsors and polishing the professional image of the organizer. It is a system that features a friendly, logical program originally written by golf professionals who wanted to set a new standard for scoring tournament golf by finding a better way.

It is a system that enables franchise partners to take control of their business lives by utilizing their strengths and defining their entrepreneurial desires. It is a system created to stamp LTS LeaderBoard as the brand of excellence in its field worldwide, with ongoing research and development dedicated to ensuring that stature.

What is my job as a LTS LeaderBoard  Franchise Partner, and what do I sell?

Your job is to show event organizers how LTS LeaderBoard can help increase their fundraising revenues; to assist them at face-to-face meetings in preparing for that reality; to show them the benefits of   making theirs a “LeaderBoard event” because no other company has the kind of professional, event-specific multimedia show that LTS LeaderBoard does; and to deliver all that you promise them on the day of their events.

What you sell is service -- the ultimate in service. LTS LeaderBoard provides you with the tools: the copyrighted scannable scoring system, the proprietary multimedia technology, the pre and   post-event technology and the proven formula that will make it rewarding for your clients and profitable for you.

Who should become a LTS Franchise Partner?

People who are highly motivated to be their own boss. People with a love and significant knowledge of golf, with a strong desire to succeed in what is a unique and unbelievable opportunity to service our unique niche in the golf business. People who are team players. People with proven sales and marketing skills. People with access to the local golf and/or      business community. People with a positive, winning attitude and a  willingness to build equity through innovation and hard work. People with a desire to help others in their community. People who want to be part of an exclusive group.

If most of those characteristics fit you, keep reading. . .

You should also be determined and results-driven, and motivated to follow the LTS LeaderBoard system and to contribute to the growth and development of the company worldwide. In this      ever-changing world of technology, you should be eager to learn. It’s also ideal if you have good people skills, are willing to work long hours, and are willing to take risks.

This is a ground-floor opportunity for   people who want to be their own boss, who are knowledgeable in the world of golf and who want to help local charities.

Why should I buy a franchise?

Are you a victim of downsizing? Are you uncertain about future employment? Are you eager to find out what job security really means? If so, franchising could be for you.

There are more than 5,000 franchise companies globally and they represent approximately 70 business categories. To join them, you have to recognize an opportunity, acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses and have that entrepreneurial drive. If that’s you, this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss!

Starting any business is risky but starting yours within the framework of a franchise system greatly reduces your risk, because this framework provides many of the building blocks for success:
       - Business Strategy
       - Proven Systems
       - Predictability
       - Market Share
       - Online Resources

By the way, job security really means your ability to provide something of value. With a franchise, you can do that “working for yourself.” Are you ready to take control of your own destiny? If you want the entrepreneurial freedom that comes with it, think seriously about franchising. Investigate franchise opportunities that allow you to apply your strengths while catering to your goals and desired lifestyle. Thousands before you have had the same thoughts on the way to becoming successful franchisees.

If you like the idea of partnering with a proven brand that has a business method based on years of experience, proven systems and continuous training, check out franchising. You won’t have to re-invent the wheel. That’s what franchising is all about. It’s a simple strategy that works. A group of independent business people build and share a “brand”,  “business method”, “marketing" and programs. You supply the capital, management talent, local knowledge and the energy and enthusiasm to follow a system that works.

With many people building and sharing the brand, their common purpose is to be dominant in their market. They are all using the same proven operating system. Consequently, the foundation for success has been built -- for all. When you buy a franchise, you buy the operating and management experience and expertise of the franchisor and existing franchisees  and put them to work for YOU.

Why should I buy a LTS LeaderBoard Franchise?

LTS LeaderBoard is the best franchise opportunity of its kind. Everywhere it goes, LTS LeaderBoard is first in the market, with no direct competition. It’s franchisees all have exclusive territories. In franchising, a dominant market position means extra profits.

If you are serious about pursuing your goals, you will already know your strengths and weaknesses, and you are confident in your drive to succeed. Now, LTS LeaderBoard can help you achieve those goals, with an opportunity you don’t want to miss, like many did when         franchises were initially being sold by national brand leaders such as McDonald’s and Subway.

Our franchise partners also take advantage of:
           - Low start-up and operating costs
           - Exclusive territories
           - Limited equipment
           - No retail inventory
           - No known competition
           - License to proprietary software
           - Multiple revenue sources

The opportunity to operate what is a new business service from their homes.

Because LTS LeaderBoard has a proven system, your risk is less. Why not partner with a franchise leader?

How much do I need to invest?

The initial franchise fee can range from $18,000 to $71,000. Golf course density, population and the type of golf courses within the territory will not only determine the boundaries, but will also determine the initial fee.

How much additional cash will I need?

For equipment, allocate from $25,000 to $35,000.

For inventory and supplies, allocate $1,000 to $2,000 for paper supplies, ink cartridges, business cards, stationery and similar general office supplies.

For additional funds and miscellaneous, budget $10,000 to $50,000. This amount estimates your initial three-month start-up expense, less income earned, not including any salary for the franchise owner or other personal expenses.  There will be a fee for web-based applications. These figures are just estimates and we cannot guarantee that you will not have higher costs, or that you will ever achieve profitability. Competitive conditions will affect these costs. This estimate also   includes miscellaneous start-up costs, such as: general liability and worker's       compensation insurance payments (if any); tax deposits and license fees (if any); prepaid expenses and deposits (e.g. utilities and rent if any), initial legal and accounting fees (if any);    transportation, lodging and meals during training; employee costs prior to opening and during training (if any); initial advertising; and other miscellaneous costs. These amounts are estimates only, and specific amounts will vary depending upon local market conditions, which are outside our control. We have relied on our experience in the golf tournament scoring, presentation and event enhancement business to compile these estimates.  You should review the figures           carefully with a business advisor before making any decision to purchase the franchise.

For real estate, leasehold improvements, fixtures, there is no estimate, as you will normally conduct business out of your home or a location where no leasehold improvement costs or fixture purchase costs are applicable.

So the estimated total start-up cost range is as follows:

          - Initial Franchise Fee: $18,000 to $71,000
          - Equipment: $25,000 to $35,000
          - Inventory and Supplies: $1,000 to $2,000
          - Additional Funds and Miscellaneous: $10,000 to $50,000
          - Real Estate, Leasehold Improvements, Fixtures: $0 dollars
          - Estimated Totals: $49,000 to $173,100

What kind of support do I get?

LTS LeaderBoard is available 24/7 to provide overall support of its franchise network, and seasoned franchisees also will help support new partners.

How do I make money?

You make money doing what you see — scoring and providing multimedia services and entertainment. Most of your income will come from clients hiring you to enhance their event. You will be paid on a per-event basis, and the amount will vary depending on the needs of your client. Every client is different. No two events have the same needs. While golf tournaments kick-started LTS LeaderBoard, it is not the seasonal business that golf is in most parts of the world. There are many types of events where LTS LeaderBoard can be an asset.

Besides that, there are multiple revenue streams at work now and that will continue to grow. Things like our unique programs to help sponsors promote their products or corporate awareness … national, regional or local sponsorship revenue,  … distribution revenue from our exclusive product distribution agreements which makes new and different items available to tournament and event organizers  … our proprietary communication programs which provides organizers and sponsors the opportunity to communicate directly with all participants of these

Do I need a sales or franchising background?

Franchising is about people, not tools. This is a people business –- their professionalism, their background, their passion and their determination.  While sales experience is recommended, what you really need is a strong business background and a sound understanding of business principles, to go with what you already have — that entrepreneurial spirit, positive attitude, and the drive and motivation that has brought you this far!

What clients will I target?

Anybody with an event that they’d like to make better.  It’s hard to imagine there is any event that would not benefit in some way from LTS LeaderBoard. It starts with charity and corporate golf tournaments and the people who run them, but it could also include golf courses that host tournaments and want LTS LeaderBoard’s professional touch.

Outside of the golf industry, LTS LeaderBoard will be an asset to events like auctions, competitions of almost any kind, seminars, corporate functions, black-tie dinners, mini golf…just about any event where participants like to see their photos on a big screen, where            sponsors like to get more recognition and where organizers want to keep everyone happy.

How will I get leads and sales?

We offer you many techniques to develop client leads. Then it's up to you to convert leads into clients. Your earning potential is something that you control, and it will be directly related to your level of enthusiasm, commitment and dedication.  You’ll be using the latest software        developed by LTS LeaderBoard, and have access to the latest thinking and strategies of your partners both in the corporate office and the field.

Because LTS LeaderBoard territories are exclusive, if one of your partners is asked about doing an event in your territory, it will automatically be referred to you.

Why will event organizers hire me and is there any real competition?

Event organizers will hire you because once they have seen what you can do for them, they’ll know it’s a service that is not available to them from anybody else, and because it will be easy for them to find the dollars to pay for your service.

Today’s charity and corporate event world is big business. With $2.9 billion raised by charity golf tournaments in North America alone, it’s huge! With sponsors being asked to be good corporate citizens by so many event organizers, it’s important for them to realize the best return on their “investment” as possible. LTS LeaderBoard provides event organizers with the opportunity to maximize that return for their sponsors.

Event organizers will also hire you because they’ll quickly realize that their other clients -– the participants -– will benefit from attending an LTS LeaderBoard event. They’ll have fun, they’ll be witness to a professional and entertaining multimedia show and they’ll see that the calculation of the competition is 100% accurate.

And event organizers will hire you because you can make things run more smoothly for them on the day of their event, by  assisting with registration, by relieving some of the stress they currently endure and by taking care of some of the mundane chores that come with being an event organizer.  In any business, there is always going to be competition. There may be companies that score golf tournaments, but so far none come close to providing the consulting services that LTS LeaderBoard provides, thanks to the proprietary multimedia software that has been years in development.

Can I really get results with all types of clients?

Of course! All it takes is clients who want to make their “event” better. Their event could be a charity or corporate golf tournament, naturally, but it could also be an auction, a fundraising dinner, a sponsored seminar or any kind of event that has a competition and/or a presentation of awards.

What are the keys to my success?

The ability to recognize an opportunity, a knowledge of your own strengths and weaknesses and the entrepreneurial drive to achieve your goals allows you to reap the rewards of real success.

If you are serious about pursuing your goals, you will already know your own strengths and weaknesses and you are confident about your drive to succeed. In no particular order, you must:

1. Know your market area.
2. Be motivated to succeed at running your own business.
3. Build exceptional client relationships by doing business the “LTS LeaderBoard Way” before, during and after the event.
4. Be eager to learn and to have a desire to help others.
5. Be willing to work the hours necessary to build the relationships and the business.

Common reasons for failure in franchising include not following a system, not working hard enough or not doing enough marketing, going ahead despite family opposition, spending money on the good things in life before earning it, not enjoying selling to other business people, not having the self-discipline to  cope with the responsibility of owning a small business, and being under-funded and misleading the franchisor on the amount of funds available.

Will this business work in my area?

This is a business that will work in any area where people run, attend and sponsor events that would benefit from being enhanced by the unique service that LTS LeaderBoard can provide. Any event organizer that wants more customers, more revenue and more profit will want LTS LeaderBoard.

Your services should be in demand. How well your business works is something that you can determine, and you can control.

How many hours will I work…and should I employ anyone?

That’s to be determined by and controlled by you. Entrepreneurs know that the first months of establishing a new business are the toughest, because there’s always a learning curve, sometimes a steep one.

Once you decide that your LTS LeaderBoard Franchise is firing on all cylinders, you may consider hiring employees. Doing so gives you the flexibility to choose the days and the hours that you work.

When your franchise grows to the point where you are doing more than one event on the same day, you will need a second team to be able to service both clients.

Can I work at home?

That’s entirely your decision. An LTS LeaderBoard Franchise is designed to make that possible, or even attractive. Most of your client consultations can be done on the phone, so it’s not necessary to have an office. That reduces one of the chronic complaints about working for somebody else -- travel time. An end to daily commuting!

When your business has grown, you may wish to take advantage of serviced offices or your own office suite.

What is my territory?

Franchise territories are carefully designed by LTS LeaderBoard so that every franchisee has equal opportunity for success within that market –- except for geography, since even LTS LeaderBoard can’t affect the length of the golf season!  Territories are based on number of      regular-length golf courses, both public and private, and population. Those numbers are factored into what you pay for a franchise.

What are the on-going fees and royalties?

LTS LeaderBoard has a fixed per-month royalty. The monthly fees are determined by the amount of the initial franchise fee, and they are fixed for the first term of the franchise contract. There will also be fees for marketing and advertising, when applicable, and fees for some Internet applications.

What contracts do I have to sign?

You will be required to sign a legally binding Franchise Contract in line with local franchise laws. You will need to get both legal and accounting advice. You should go through the full disclosure documentation with your advisors. Our obligations and your obligations will be clearly spelled out.
What is the term of the contract?

The term for a franchise agreement is five years. All agreements provide for renewal at the end of that term provided generally that the franchise has been conducted in accordance with the terms of the agreement.

Are there any guarantees?

Are there any guarantees in life? Your franchise is a business. It’s up to you to make it work. LTS LeaderBoard provides you with the tools and proven strategies. Implementing them in your area becomes your responsibility.

Predicting is always precarious. However, the franchisor’s experience in the business and in many different markets and locations, the use of proven marketing programs and the effect of operating as a group should provide an accurate level of predictability. And it’s always a bonus when your franchise is first in your marketplace.

By using the franchise model, all parties benefit from rapid expansion of the system and all should dominate markets for their products and services. A dominant market position means      everybody wins, and more profits for you.

You will always receive the best service from LTS LeaderBoard, and your concerns and questions will always be dealt with quickly and thoroughly.
